Ordering & Wholesale FAQs

Wholesale Orders & Discounts
Retailers and Booksellers can order our books through Ingram both within the US and internationally. We highly encourage you to go through those channels as it is the fastest and potentially cheaper option depending on the type of account you already have with Ingram or any of their partners.

If you do not have an account with Ingram or would prefer to order directly through us, please keep in mind that we are a super small press running on a tight budget. Since we print in the US in small batches we try to strike a balance between our costs & profit that allows us to continue to do this important work and the discounts that allow bookstores and retailers to also make a profit. We do like to offer discounts when we can, especially to schools, programs, and social justice organizations working to change the world!

Books purchased for resale with a valid resale certificate are sold in increments of 5 and we currently offer 20% discount for 5-15 books, 30% for 20-30 books, and 40% discount for 30 books and up. Bulk orders not intended for resale require a minimum of 30 copies of the same title and are eligible for 30% discount for 30-50 books and 40% discount for 51+ books.

In most cases books ship UPS Ground directly from our printer/distributor and shipping range from $10-$15 for up to 25 books, shipping charges may vary depending on number of books, ship to address & shipping speed and overall weight. We will assess the appropriate shipping charges when you contact us.

It is recommended that you contact us to arrange a wholesale or bulk order 12-15 business days prior to when you’d like to have them in hand. Rush orders may require an additional charge and would be dependent on our available stock. Please contact us at sales@reflectionpress.com with the specifics of what you’d like to order, how many copies, due date and ship to address so we can assess discounts and shipping charges.

Why Print on Demand (POD)?
Currently all of our books are print on demand (POD) and printed within the United States. We keep a small stock on hand for orders and in-person sales but also rely on our POD printer for fulfilling orders. As a small independent publisher, part of our commitment to publishing radical and revolutionary books, is being aware and respectful of our Earth. We use print on demand so that we only ever print the number we need. We also prefer this method as it allows for faster turnaround and lower up front costs allowing us to get these books out to our communities NOW!

“The print on demand (POD) model offers significant environmental advantages over traditional offset manufacturing. With offset manufacturing books often go unsold and are destroyed, usually after being shipped and handled multiple times. Wasted paper, wasted energy, greenhouse emissions, pulping, and landfill overflows can result. The environmental advantages of utilizing POD technology allow books to be printed to fill an existing demand. POD lessens the possibility of returns, reduces supply chain waste, greenhouse emissions, and conserves valuable natural resources.”

What about the Paper?
All wood product components used in our black & white paperback books from our US based printer are sustainably forested (Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) Certified Sourcing). We believe this is the next wave in publishing as we begin to listen to and respect our home and our responsibility here. While color books are printed on the same paper, our printer does not make a technical claim of certification at this time. This is largely due to the challenges of implementing a certification program in a print on demand (POD) environment within the rules established by the certifying bodies (SFI, FSC™, and PEFC™) that were not necessarily written with POD in mind. Please contact us if you would like to view the Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC®) or Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI®) Certified Product Lists or to view the Chain of Custody certificates from our printer.
Methods of Payment
We accept payment via Credit Card through Mijireh Secure Checkout or PayPal for online orders. Both are third party credit card processors that keep all of your transaction information secure. You do *not* need your own PayPal or Mijireh account to use the service. If you have questions about how this works we’ll be happy to assist you. If you would like to pay by check, please contact us at sales@reflectionpress.com to verify the total cost of your purchase, including tax and shipping.
Order Processing
All orders will be processed and shipped within 2-5 days after receipt of order and payment. Expedited orders usually ship within 1-2 days.
Shipping Methods, Delivery Times, & Charges
Shipping charges can be calculated once items are added to your cart. Orders are shipped via USPS and may take 2-10 business days to be delivered depending on location. Expedited shipping methods such as Priority Mail, UPS Ground and Air service are available if needed, for an additional cost. To request a rush or overnight shipment, please contact us at sales@reflectionpress.com to schedule this service and confirm expedited charges. Expedited shipping cannot be sent to P.O. Boxes.

Please Note: We will do everything possible to get books to you in a timely manner, however, Reflection Press is not responsible for transit times once orders have been shipped. Although there are rarely any problems, transit times are provided by the carrier, excludes holidays, and may vary by destination, particularly during peak periods. Please take this into consideration when placing your order.

Sales Tax
Only California residents will be charged sales tax. Sales tax is based on San Francisco’s tax rate. Sales tax will be added automatically at checkout.
Checking Order Status
Once you submit and pay for your order, you will automatically receive an email confirmation. You’ll also get a confirmation email containing any relevant tracking numbers, if applicable, once your order ships. International Orders
For international orders, shipping will be added at checkout based on location. Feel free to contact us at sales@reflectionpress.com should you have any questions.
What do I do if I receive a defective book?
We always inspect all books and posters sold directly from us prior to carefully packaging and shipping out to you. Orders through other retailers or shipped directly from our printer may not be as closely inspected. In the event that you receive incorrect or defective books or other items, please contact us immediately at sales@reflectionpress.com.
